Job Summary

Under the direction of the Nurse Leader, deliver quality care for an assigned caseload by delegating duties, directing staff, and collaborating with medical professionals. Provide direct and indirect patient care, communicate clinical changes and diagnostic results to physicians and co-workers, and respond accurately to shifts in patient conditions. Maintain appropriate resource utilization, document patient information accurately, and adapt to unit priorities while ensuring compassionate support for patients and families. Weekend and holiday shifts are required, with variable schedules including days, nights, and weekends based on unit need. This safety-sensitive position requires proficiency in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Jefferson Regional Nursing Departments values candidates with at least one year of clinical experience in an acute care setting and a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Nursing.

Required Qualifications

  • Variable shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays, depending on unit need
  • Weekend and holiday shifts are required
  • This position is based within Jefferson Regional Nursing Departments
  • Under the direction of the Nurse Leader, the Registered Nurse is responsible for the quality of care for an assigned caseload of patients
  • This includes delegating duties appropriately and directing staff in the delivery of care
  • assuring responsibility for the appropriate utilization of resources
  • collaborating with medical staff and others in the provision of care
  • demonstrating positive interpersonal relationships with others in communication and problem resolution
  • Provides direct and indirect patient care in the hospital setting
  • Communicates with physicians/Nurse Manager/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient's clinical condition including results of diagnostic studies and symptomatology
  • Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment
  • is able to perform general nursing duties in all departments with adequate supervision
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Graduate from an accredited nursing school program required
  • Technical in Nursing required
  • Basic proficiency in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care
  • Adequate verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams
  • Capacity to collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals
  • Basic competency in documenting patient information accurately
  • Basic flexibility to adapt to changes in patient conditions and unit priorities
  • Attention to detail
  • Provides compassionate support to patients and families, ensuring positive environment in the hospital
  • 1-2 years of clinical experience, particularly in an acute care setting preferred

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Proficiency in electronic documentation preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills preferred
