Job Summary
Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery provides direct patient care to obstetric patients, utilizing the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care while engaging patients and families. Responsible for monitoring patient conditions, adjusting care plans, coordinating with the care team, ensuring safety, and maintaining accurate EHR documentation. May float to other units within the service area to meet patient care needs. Requires strong clinical judgment, effective communication, and collaboration; effective delegation to RNs, LPNs, and UAPs; and adherence to ethical standards. ADN/BSN pathway considered with preferred BSN. Active RN license with privileges to practice in state(s) where clients are located; BLS required. 1 year of clinical nursing experience typical. Schedule includes weekend/holiday rotation; full-time position with 30 hours/week. Competitive benefits package available.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program
- Active registered nurse (RN) multi-state compact and/or single-state license with privileges to practice in the state(s) where the RN is providing client nursing services
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- 1 year of clinical nursing experience
- May float to other units within designated service area
- Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of age-specific patient care needs
- Must have knowledge of growth and development principles across lifespan
