Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for Labor and Delivery units using the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Direct care delivery through delegation, prioritize tasks, and coordinate resources while providing accurate documentation and adhering to legal and ethical standards. Manage patient education, referrals, and follow-up plans, and respond quickly to alarms and emergency situations with precise communication and equipment manipulation. Perform physical tasks including transferring patients, lifting supplies, and ambulating patients while navigating crowded rooms. Requires current RN license, BLS certification, and BSN degree; works night shift (7p–7a) with 36 weekly hours at St. Marys Regional Hospital in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN)
- Education must be obtained from an accredited institution
- Degree will be verified
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required as of the job description's last update on 4/27/2025
- Employees hired or promoted prior to this date will be held to the minimum requirements that were in place at the time of their promotion or hire
Desired Qualifications
- RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of their hire date
