Job Summary
The Labor and Delivery nurse cares for women and neonates during labor and childbirth. They are responsible for assisting, supporting, and educating families throughout the birth process. The Labor and Delivery nurse provides comprehensive, family centered nursing care to mothers and neonates during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum stages of delivery. The nurse must be able to recognize complications and act quickly to stabilize the situation and communicate with the patient, family, and appropriate physicians and specialists.
Required Qualifications
- RN license active in the state of Missouri
- BLS must be obtained within 90 days
- ACLS must be obtained within one year of hire
- NRP must be obtained within one year of hire
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
- Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
