Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for labor and delivery units using the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Direct care teams through delegation, coordinate patient delivery by managing time and resources, and revise care plans based on clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction. Provide accurate documentation, maintain legal and ethical standards, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while delivering therapeutic interventions. This role requires a current Registered Nurse license with BLS certification and a BSN degree. Schedule includes nights with evening, night, and weekend differentials, totaling 36 weekly hours. A $20,000 sign-on bonus is available for external candidates with experience, plus relocation assistance for out-of-state hires.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN)
- Education must be obtained from an accredited institution
- Degree will be verified
- Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations
- Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Must be able to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
Desired Qualifications
- RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of their hire date
