Job Summary
Provide safe, effective, and patient-centered care while maintaining professional accountability for assigned patients. Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by other direct caregivers and coordinate patient care collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams. Uphold patient rights, maintain confidentiality, and perform all duties in alignment with Mercy's mission, values, and Service Standards. Utilize the nursing process to deliver compassionate, high-quality care across the full continuum from low-risk deliveries to high-risk antenatal care. Maintain a 3:1:1 staffing ratio and work in a highly collaborative, faith-based environment supported 24/7 by in-house OB hospitalists, anesthesia, and Maternal Fetal Medicine specialists.
Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing (associates degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire

- One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe: NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe: ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
- One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe: TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
- One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe: CPHON (Certified Pediatric/Hematology/Oncology Nurses)
- One or more of the certifications below may be required based on the position/unit hired to, or acquisition of certification within department required timeframe: OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse)

- Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift
