Job Summary
Provide professional nursing care to patients and families in an acute clinical care environment within the L&D/NICU setting, guided by the SMHCS nursing professional practice model and ANA's Standards of Professional Practice. Maintain required certifications including Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 90 days of hire, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 120 days, and any OB/Neonatal certifications such as Electronic Fetal Monitoring or Maternal-Newborn Nursing. Requires L&D experience and a BSN for new hires after 2012. Schedule involves 12-hour night shifts from 6pm to 6:30am, with weekend, holiday, and call shifts required. Background screening through The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse is mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- basic working knowledge of commonly used computer applications
- graduate of an accredited school of nursing or a diploma program
- Bachelor of Science Degree in nursing (BSN)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- OB/Neonatal Certifications (Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification, Maternal-Newborn Nursing Certification, Low Risk Neonatal Certification, Lactation Certification)
- L&D experience
- FL Registered Nurse License
- Basic Life Support/CPR certification
- Background screening through The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse
