Job Summary
Registered Nurse (L&D) providing specialized care to mothers during labor and delivery and immediate postpartum in Marrero, LA. Responsibilities include monitoring maternal vital signs and fetal heart rate, managing labor progress, coaching patients and families on birth techniques and pain management, assisting physicians during delivery (including cesarean sections), stabilizing newborns, and coordinating postpartum or neonatal transition. Requires RN with ADN or BSN, LA license, BLS, and 1+ year L&D/acute care experience; per-diem schedule at hospital.
Required Qualifications
- Active Louisiana state RN license
- Current BLS Certification
- Completion of accredited Registered Nursing (RN) program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree)
- At least one year of Labor & Delivery or acute care experience
- Proficient in fetal heart monitoring, administration of IV medications, epidural management, and use of electronic medical records (EMR)
- Strong critical thinking, calm under pressure, excellent communication with patients and families, compassionate bedside manner
