Job Summary
Provide medical oversight and instruction to Support Staff, ensuring compliance with NYS Nurse Practice Act and OPWDD regulations. Conduct random skill assessments of Licensed Practical Nurses, inspect medication administration documentation, and maintain current medical records including T-logs, MARs, and allergy lists. Prepare annual and semi-annual reports, attend team meetings, and review nursing notes weekly to address significant changes in the wellbeing of residents. Complete written protocols for Direct Support Professionals regarding acute and chronic conditions, and coordinate medical appointments as needed. Maintain active participation on agency committees and ensure all documentation is reviewed and concerns are addressed promptly.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed and registered with NYS Education Department as a Registered Professional Nurse
- Valid/acceptable NYS Driver's License
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Experience with the developmentally disabled
- BLS Certification

Desired Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications – Will accept GN (Graduated Nurse) with the expectation that the NYS Registered Professional Nurse License is obtained in 90 days
