Job Summary
Coordinate and deliver orientation to Health Services, providing care, assessment, triage, and treatment to students while promoting a safe and secure environment. Manage medication inventory, controlled substances, and prescriptions, ensuring compliance with DOL, Corporate, and Center requirements. Supervise the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), monitor infection control measures, and maintain accurate medical records. Handle emergency care on-call and ensure all equipment is properly accounted for and maintained. Monitor student behavior, coordinate referrals as needed, and assist in developing employability skills. Participate in the Student Government Association's Health and Wellness Committee and the Career Management Team process.
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted RN license to practice in state where center is located
- One (1) year nursing experience
- Valid state driver's license
- CPR/First Aid certifications
- Registered Nursing License
- Computer proficiency
- Excellent communication skills
- Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Close, distance and peripheral vision
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and government regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Must maintain a safe and healthy workplace
- Must be able to occasionally be exposed to outdoor weather conditions
- Must be available for overtime
- Must be available for changes in work schedules as required
