Job Summary
Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate nursing care for patients while documenting health data and interventions with minimal exceptions. Direct and supervise patient care provided by LPNs and support personnel, acting as a charge nurse, group leader, or preceptor when assigned. Mentor new staff and students, advocate for patient autonomy and rights, and ensure informed consent is obtained for procedures. Participate in research, quality improvement processes, and professional committees to advance clinical practice and contribute to the department's body of knowledge. Provide two annual in-services for coworkers and complete required unit credentialing and training validations. Maintain current licensure and skills, adhering to research-based standards and ethical codes.
Required Qualifications
- 4 year / Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Master's degree in Nursing
- Minimum 5 years of Registered Nurse experience
- 3 years must be in relevant practice area
- Must be able to perform as preceptor
- Minimum 2 years Registered Nurse experience in relevant practice area
- Current NYS license as a RN
- BLS certification
- Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 lbs. for force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects
- Occasional balancing, climbing, crouching, kneeling, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching
- Frequent fit testing
- Constant typing, grasping, hearing, repetitive motion, seeing/ monitor/ computer use, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, walking
- Occasional radiation/radiant energy
- Frequent: bodily fluids/bloodborne exposure
- Occasional noise, vibration, wet and/or humid
- Frequent odors
- Occasional Travel
