Job Summary
Provide comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing IR procedures across seven imaging modalities, including CT, ultrasound, diagnostic X-ray, molecular imaging, MRI, Baylis outpatient imaging, and interventional procedural suites. Perform and assist with a broad range of procedures involving moderate sedation, cardiac medication administration, vascular access, and pre- and post-procedural care while monitoring hemodynamics, vital signs, and procedural responses. Function as the sole nurse in the procedure room, collaborating closely with radiology technologists, physicians, and multidisciplinary teams to support a fast-paced, high-turnover workflow. Document all assessments, interventions, and procedural events accurately and promptly.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Illinois (or ability to obtain)
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in ICU, ED, or PACU
- Demonstrated strong critical thinking, rapid clinical assessment, and independent decision-making skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic, technologically advanced environment with a wide procedural scope
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Not accepting new graduates for this position
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with procedural sedation
- Charge nurse experience (e.g., cardiac or dialysis)
- Familiarity with caring for critically ill patients outside of traditional inpatient units
