Job Summary
Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies for diverse patient, family, and group requirements. Effectively delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members while assuming accountability for quality patient outcomes. Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources properly as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team. Use data and knowledge to evaluate and promote change for optimal outcomes, adapting behavior to specific patient populations with respect for privacy and communication styles. Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local laws, accreditation standards, and the Compliance & Privacy Program. Perform duties requiring exposure to blood, body fluids, and hazardous medications within a patient care area.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to be self directed
- Ability to demonstrate good judgement
- Good interpersonal skills
- Heavy Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly
- Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue
- Occupational risk for exposure to communicable diseases
- Occupational risk for exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- Certification in clinical specialty area
