Job Summary
Gather and update patient information and vital signs, administer medications and vaccines, perform diagnostic screenings, and collect specimens for testing. Conduct in-office clinical procedures, place and review orders within the EMR, and relay lab results to patients via phone, portal, or in-person. Provide patient and family education, document accurately and timely, and respond to urgent or acute situations based on prioritization skills. Coordinate care with in-house specialties, community resources, home health, and acute care facilities while adhering to industry guidelines and department protocols. Maintain strict HIPAA confidentiality and complete mandatory educational requirements and certifications. This 40-hour role supports InterMed's mission of patient-centered primary care in South Portland, ME.
Required Qualifications
- ADN or BSN from an accredited institution
- 0+ years of experience
- Unencumbered active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of Maine
- BLS required within 6 weeks of hire
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and regulations
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and respond to rapidly changing, sometimes acute patient care needs
Desired Qualifications
- Proficient in Windows and Microsoft applications, electronic medical record (EMR) experience preferred
