Job Summary
Registered Nurse Intern at The New York Proton Center will work closely with the Nurse Manager, Lead Nurses and nursing staff to learn radiation oncology nursing care. Responsibilities include greeting patients, observing RNs and nurse navigators, assisting with consultations, treatment visits and follow-ups, facilitating patient questionnaire completion, supporting communications with referring providers, complying with HIPAA, and performing department-related duties under supervision. Requires collaboration in a fast-paced clinical setting and a strong emphasis on patient-focused care and professional development in proton therapy nursing.
Required Qualifications
- Registered Nurse with Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Desire to increase knowledge in Radiation Oncology Nursing
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Highly motivated with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
