Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and therapeutic interventions. Direct the interdisciplinary care team through delegation and coordination while managing time, supplies, and resources to deliver effective patient care. Collaboratively develop individualized care plans with patients, families, and physicians, ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with legal and ethical standards. This role requires a current Registered Nurse license, BLS certification, and a BSN degree for new hires, with a focus on critical thinking, communication, and manual dexterity for patient transfers and equipment handling. Located at Good Samaritan Hospital in Lafayette, Colorado, the position offers a $10k sign-on bonus and relocation assistance for experienced nurses.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Physical ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Ability to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Ability to handle items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items
- Ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients
- Ability to push/pull gurneys and portable equipment
- Ability to navigate crowded and busy rooms
- Ability to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Ability to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Ability to effectively use a computer and type for documenting patient care
- Ability to access needed information and prepare medication
- Ability to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
Desired Qualifications
- RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of their hire date
