Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for mixed acuity patients using the nursing process, evidence-based practice, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Direct care teams through delegation and coordination while managing priorities, supplies, and resources. Evaluate patient responses to interventions and revise care plans based on clinical outcomes and satisfaction data. Maintain accurate, timely documentation and adhere to legal, ethical, and regulatory standards. Manage complex equipment including insulin gtts, Bipap, Trach's, and Heated Hi Flo for conditions such as strokes and sepsis. Requires current RN license, BLS certification, and BSN degree; offers $20,000 sign-on bonus for night-shift experienced RNs. Located at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver.
Required Qualifications
- Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
- Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN). Education must be obtained from an accredited institution. Degree will be verified

- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items
- Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
