Job Summary

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the physical, social, and psychological status of patients on a mixed acuity care unit using evidence-based practice and interdisciplinary collaboration. Direct the care team through delegation and coordination, manage patient care delivery by prioritizing tasks and resources, and revise care plans based on clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction. Provide accurate documentation, ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards, and address acute conditions including sepsis, DKA, and BIPAP support while maintaining BLS certification. This 40-hour night-shift role at Saint Joseph Hospital in Denver requires a current RN license and offers a $20,000 sign-on bonus for experienced candidates.

Required Qualifications

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
  • Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Education must be obtained from an accredited institution
  • Degree will be verified
  • RNs with less than 12 months of experience must obtain their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) within four (4) years of their hire date
  • Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
  • Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations
  • Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
  • Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
  • Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
  • Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
  • Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
  • Must be able to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles
  • Must comply with all applicable Intermountain policies and expectations
  • Outside employment or activities may not interfere with job responsibilities or create a conflict of interest with Intermountain
