Job Summary

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care of patients in the Intensive Care Unit using the nursing process, therapeutic intervention, and evidence-based practice. Direct the interdisciplinary care team through delegation, coordination, and collaboration while managing time, supplies, and resources to prioritize patient care delivery. Collaboratively develop individualized plans of care with patients, families, and physicians, including education and referrals, and continuously revise plans based on clinical outcomes and satisfaction. Provide accurate and timely documentation, maintain legal and ethical standards, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Requires current RN licensure, one year of ICU experience, and BLS certification.

Required Qualifications

  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in state of practice
  • Valid compact licenses must be transferred to the state of practice within 60 days of the start of employment
  • One year of licensed RN experience
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • BSN Education must be obtained from an accredited institution
  • Ability to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
  • Ability to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
  • Ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
  • Ability to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
  • Ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
  • Ability to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
  • Ability to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles

Desired Qualifications

  • Two years of licensed RN experience in an ICU and/or high acuity setting
