Job Summary
Coordinates patient intake activities and resources. Evaluates severity of illness for elective, direct and urgent admissions to determine appropriate level of patient care. Reviews physician orders for clinical appropriateness/completeness and proper admission status. Coordinates education and development of internal staff and external departments to ensure understanding of intake review and approval process. Conducts complex clinical review for inpatient, outpatient, and ancillary services requests for medical necessity. Applies evidence-based nursing practice and the ANA Code of Ethics to ensure patient care aligns with age-specific and clinical needs. Performs duties with professional nursing standards and in a safe, alert manner; performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited nursing program or licensing equivalency
- State of Work Location Illinois RN license (IDFPR)
- BLS HCP – American Heart Association
- Registered Professional Nurse (RN) – Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with psychiatric patients
- Graduate of accredited nursing program
- RN license (Illinois)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider
