Job Summary
Deliver nursing care in the psychiatric inpatient by assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients. Coordinate and delegate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues, update records, and interpret computerized data. Follow established guidelines to assist leadership in quality improvement projects. Full-time, 36 hours weekly, every third weekend from 7pm to 7:30am. Requires Massachusetts RN licensure, BLS, and ACLS certification within 90 days. Preferred qualifications include NIHSS certificate, telemetry experience, and EHR proficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
- 1+ years of Inpatient Behavioral Health RN experience preferred
- Certification in basic life support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life support (ACLS) certification required within 90 days of hire
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certificate preferred and/or completed during orientation
- Telemetry experience preferred
- Experience with electronic health record preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
- Basic computer proficiency
- Fluency in another language a plus
- Must complete a background check before beginning employment
- Must be vaccinated against COVID-19 and flu, as well as receive a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine
Desired Qualifications
- Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), Ability to obtain BSN within 4 years
