Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments, collect and document patient data, and administer chemotherapy, biotherapy, IV fluids, and blood products in accordance with ONS and hospital standards. Develop, implement, and revise individualized plans of care while prioritizing patient needs and communicating condition changes to physicians and the interdisciplinary team. Provide patient and caregiver education on disease processes, treatment side effects, and discharge instructions; recognize and respond to emergency situations to ensure safe, ethical care delivery. Work 9a-9:30p, 3-12 shifts per week between Monday-Friday. Maintain flexibility, including floating as needed, and participate in quality and performance improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Current state Registered Nurse License
- Bachelor of Science Degree
- Current BLS (If not AHA certificate must be obtained 30 days of hire)
- ACLS (If not AHA certificate must be obtained within 30 days of hire)
- Chemotherapy certification
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Card
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years in oncology and/or medical-surgical units
- Experience in multi-disciplinary approach to patient care
- Excellent infusion therapy-related skills (peripheral and central lines)
- Enrolled within 6 months of hire and completed within 3 years from hire date (Bachelor of Science Degree)
