Job Summary
Registered Nurse on Neuro and Cardiothoracic ICU units providing comprehensive patient care across the continuum. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and supervising patient care; delegating and supervising non-RN personnel; serving as charge nurse; precepting new staff; and coordinating care with the healthcare team. Must demonstrate competency in neuro care, airway management, suctioning for pharyngeal/endotracheal/tracheostomy care, ventilator management, and care for patients with halo braces. Includes educating patients and families and participating in performance improvement. BSN preferred; CT RN license required; BCLS certification required within one month of hire; opportunities for professional development and advancement described.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN preferred
- Licensed and currently registered nurse in the State of Connecticut
- BCLS certification required or must obtain within one month of hire
- Clinical specialty certification highly encouraged
