Job Summary
Provide high-level patient care in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) as a Registered Nurse III (Nurse Clinician III) at Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital. Independently manage complex patient cases, apply evidence-based clinical practices, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, compassionate, and effective care in a critical care environment. Demonstrate clinical leadership and participate in professional nursing development initiatives. Requires leadership experience and a supervisory role with duties including mentoring and guiding staff; night shift with a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and on-call. BSN preferred; TX RN license; BLS; specialty certification; minimum 3 years RN experience and 1 year of clinical leadership experience with relevant leadership criteria.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from AHA or Red Cross approved program
- Specialty nursing certification required
- Minimum of 3 years RN experience
- Minimum of 1 year clinical leadership experience meeting at least 2 leadership criteria such as: Preceptor, Charge Nurse, Mentor, Certification, QI Champion, CoP Chair
