Job Summary
Provide compassionate nursing care to detainees at El Valle Detention Facility in Raymondville, TX. Responsibilities include attending sick calls with physicians, obtaining medication/treatment orders, administering medications, documenting care accurately, examining detainees, referring as needed, maintaining a secure and sanitary unit, adhering to HIPAA and pharmacy laws, and preparing safety and incident reports. Role requires on-call work, 12-hour night shifts, and ensuring proper charting of medical care; operate in coordination with physicians, manage potential emergencies, and uphold security and confidentiality of medical records.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in nursing
- current, valid nursing RN license in the state of Texas or a compact state
- Must possess current CPR certification
- Must work within Texas state board of nursing scope of practice
- Must successfully complete required preservice training
- Valid driver’s license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management
