Job Summary
Deliver safe patient care utilizing the nursing process by assessing, planning, and evaluating care for women's health populations across the lifespan. Lead department staff as a resource and mentor while directing and supervising LPNs and support personnel. Perform and document Point of Care (POC) testing, maintain reagents and equipment, and advocate for patient autonomy and dignity. Ensure informed consent is obtained for all indicated procedures and acquire current clinical skills through required training and competency validation.
Required Qualifications
- 2 year / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Vocational / Technical Diploma Professional Nursing Program
- 4 year / Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- Minimum 3 years Registered Nurse experience
- Minimum 1-year Registered Nurse experience within relevant practice area
- Current NYS license as a Registered Nurse
- BLS certification
- Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 lbs. for force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects
- Occasional balancing, climbing, crouching, kneeling, lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching
- Frequent fit testing
- Constant typing/clerical/dexterity, grasping, hearing, repetitive motion, seeing/monitor/computer use, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity (color, depth, perception), walking
- Occasional radiation/radiant energy
- Frequent bodily fluids/bloodborne exposure
- Occasional noise, vibration, wet and/or humid
- Frequent odors
- Occasional Travel - The job may require travel from time-to-time, but not on a regular basis
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience as a charge nurse/leadership role
