Job Summary
Assess, plan, deliver, and evaluate nursing care for patients across the lifespan while maintaining accurate health data and identifying individualized outcomes. Implement interventions, monitor progress toward goals, and direct patient care provided by LPNs and support personnel. Serve as a resource for staff, act as charge nurse or preceptor, and lead performance improvement initiatives. Participate in quality improvement processes, nursing research, and educational activities for coworkers. Adhere to ANA Code of Ethics, advocate for patient autonomy, and ensure informed consent for procedures. Complete required unit credentialing, training validation, and annual in-service training. Provide evidence of current licensure and BLS certification within six months.
Required Qualifications
- 2 year / Associate degree in Nursing
- Vocational / Technical Diploma Professional Nursing Program
- Minimum 3 years Registered Nurse Experience
- 1 year must have been in a relevant practice area
- Must be able to perform as a preceptor
- Current NYS license as a Registered Nurse
- BLS certification
- Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 lbs. for force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects
- Occasional balancing, climbing, crouching, kneeling, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching
- Frequent fit testing
- Constant typing, grasping, hearing, repetitive motion, seeing/ monitor/ computer use, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, walking
- Occasional radiation/radiant energy
- Frequent bodily fluids/bloodborne exposure
- Occasional noise, vibration, wet and/or humid
- Frequent odors
- Occasional Travel
Desired Qualifications
- 4 year / Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Previous experience as a charge nurse/leadership role
