Job Summary
Provide individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients in the PICU utilizing the nursing process under general supervision. Deliver safe and effective care while interacting with the health care team to achieve desired results. Work rotating night shifts from 3 to 12 hours per week, including weekends, with a minimum of one year of RN experience required. Maintain licensure with the South Carolina Board of Nursing and hold current BLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred
- A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to lift/lower objects 50 lbs. from/to floor from/to 36 inches unassisted
- Ability to lift from 36" to overhead 25 lbs.
- Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force
- Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes
- Ability to match or discriminate between colors
- Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception
- Good peripheral vision capabilities
- Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction
- Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations
- Ability to work rotating shifts
- Ability to work overtime as required
Desired Qualifications
- Associate or Diploma degree in nursing (for RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013, required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years)
