Job Summary
Conduct thorough and compassionate telephone triage for patients in an outpatient OB/GYN clinic setting. Provide timely clinical triage, medical advice, and education on OB/GYN issues including preterm labor, hormones, and menopause. Make triage judgments, schedule appointments, fax prescriptions, and return all patient calls within the same day. Counsel patients on diet, exercise, medications, and menstrual cycles while assessing acuity levels and prioritizing needs. This 40-hour week runs Monday through Friday with some Saturdays required.
Required Qualifications
- Current Oregon RN license
- CPR certification
- Excellent communication skills in person and over the phone
- Ability to anticipate and prioritize the patient's needs
- Knowledge of contraceptives, hormones and medications compatible with pregnancy
- Knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment modalities required
- Knowledge of medical charting processes and procedures
- Prior experience with or the ability to learn electronic medical records software
- Must be able to pass a background check
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in OB/GYN, L&D or family practice
- Prior experience using Epic or similar EMR
