Job Summary
Registered Nurse II in the Medical Surgical ICU providing individualized, goal-directed patient care using the nursing process. Responsibilities include assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care, coordination with multidisciplinary teams, patient/family-centered care, and adherence to nursing standards. Role involves leadership with other team members, active participation in a professional practice model, and promoting clinical excellence through autonomous practice, shared governance, and ongoing professional development. Requires RN licensure (SC or compact), BLS certification, and typically a BSN (BSN preferred or BSN must be pursued within specified timelines); minimum one year of RN experience. Physical requirements include lifting and mobility tasks, with rotating shifts typical in this role.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred
- RN licensure by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state
- Minimum of one year of RN work experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA or American Red Cross for Healthcare Providers
- Enrollment in BSN program within two years and BSN degree within four years for RNs hired with an Associate or Diploma degree
- Ability to perform required physical tasks and work rotating shifts
Desired Qualifications
- BSN preferred
