Job Summary
Maintain safe patient care and advocate for patient safety by collaborating with staff, departments, and safety rounds findings. Perform all nursing functions efficiently per the Indiana Nurse Practice Act, utilizing the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Manage phone and walk-in triage to identify care levels, priorities, and appropriate actions while documenting assessments, medications, and patient teaching. Delegate tasks based on patient needs and staff skill sets, assuming supervisory functions when the Charge Nurse or Clinic Manager is absent. Serve as a preceptor for staff and students, integrate cultural diversity needs into care, and participate in performance improvement activities using evidence-based practice. Full-time day shift. Current Indiana RN license and one year of experience required.
Required Qualifications
- Current Indiana license as a Registered Nurse
- eligibility for Indiana licensure
- A minimum of 1 year of professional nursing experience
Desired Qualifications
- CPR certification (American Heart Association Healthcare Provider preferred)
- TB certification
- Skill in using/operating specialized equipment
- Competence/accountability in administering medications, treatments, performing tests
- Exhibits good communication skills to include effective listening and interviewing techniques
- Demonstrates knowledge of diseases/symptoms, usual treatments/ medications /interventions, current clinical concepts
- Demonstrates ability to function as member of the healthcare team and to delegate responsibilities/duties appropriately
- Able to follow oral/written instructions and record/interpret information accurately
- Demonstrates basic computer skills
- Demonstrates critical thinking skills and can give rationale
- Performs CPR when situation indicates
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred, easily understood in both languages
