Job Summary
Assess, plan, and implement patient care plans in the emergency department by collecting symptoms, administering medications, and stabilizing patients through coordination with medical staff and EMS. Monitor vital signs, triage patients using the ESI system, and educate families on surgical procedures and post-surgery care while maintaining accurate electronic medical records. Change dressings, insert catheters, start IVs, and perform daily equipment checks including crash cart and oxygen cylinder inspections. Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate transfers, discharge, and referrals, utilizing SBAR for handoffs and AIDET for patient communication. Float to other hospital areas as assigned and attend monthly and annual training.
