Job Summary
Provide individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients in the 8 Peds Acute Care unit using the nursing process. Deliver safe, effective care while interacting with the health care team. Maintain current licensure by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state, along with BLS and PALS certifications. Complete a Bachelor of Nursing degree within four years of hire if holding an Associate or Diploma. Work rotating night shifts, 36 hours weekly, with frequent overtime and on-call requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred
- Minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse
- Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS)
- Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to lift/lower objects 50 lbs. from/to floor from/to 36 inches unassisted
- Ability to lift from 36" to overhead 25 lbs.
- Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force
- Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes
- Ability to match or discriminate between colors
- Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception
- Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction
- Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations
- Ability to work rotating shifts
- Ability to work overtime as required
- Ability to work in a latex safe environment
- Ability to maintain tactile sensory functions
- Ability to maintain good olfactory sensory function
- Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required
