Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients with conditions including sepsis, diabetes, and respiratory disorders while utilizing evidence-based practice and therapeutic interventions. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans, delegate tasks, and prepare patients for discharge with education and referrals. Document care accurately, maintain legal compliance, and adapt interventions based on patient responses. Float to other units within the facility as needed and accept assignments across Intermountain regions. Requires 2 years of recent ICU or Med/Surg experience and a current RN license.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of recent ICU or Med/Surg experience
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients
- Expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc
- Must be able to accept assignments in any Intermountain region
- Must be able to work at any Intermountain facility
- Includes locations in Utah, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, and Nevada
- Must be available for travel
- Must be able to float if not needed at assigned facility
