Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care across Med Surg units, utilizing the nursing process and evidence-based practice. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans, delegate tasks, and prepare patients for discharge with education and referrals. Maintain compliance with legal standards while documenting care accurately and adapting interventions based on patient responses. This role includes floating to other units as needed and managing typical admissions such as sepsis, diabetes, and post-operative surgical care. Full-time hours are required for a 3-month assignment with a pay rate of $58–$65/hour, adjusted quarterly.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of recent ICU or Med/Surg experience
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients
- Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms
- Expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
- Strong attention to detail
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs

Desired Qualifications
