Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care for conditions including sepsis, diabetes, and post-operative surgical care. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans, prepare patients for discharge, and document compliance with legal standards. Float between units as needed to support optimal patient outcomes across various medical-surgical specialties. Maintain accuracy in documentation while managing equipment, monitoring alarms, and assisting with patient transfers in a busy hospital environment.
Required Qualifications
- 2 years of recent ICU or Med/Surg experience
- Current RN license in the state of practice
- Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers
- Must be able to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Must be able to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Must be able to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients
- Must be able to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
- Must be able to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Must be able to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
- Must have manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Must be able to frequently use a computer and type for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
