Job Summary
The Registered Nurse (ICU) provides direct patient care on an ICU nursing unit under the supervision of the Nurse Manager/Clinical Coordinator. Responsibilities include assessing the patient's physical and psychosocial condition, developing and communicating a plan of care with input from the patient and family, implementing and coordinating care with the healthcare team, evaluating outcomes and readiness for discharge, and educating patients and families. The role may involve supervising non-RN personnel, acting as charge nurse, and potential rotation to other units. Demonstrates competency in neuro patient care, neuro assessment, airway management for neuro patients, care of tracheostomy patients, and involvement in neuro procedures. Additional areas include use of the TIA teaching program, suctioning procedures, ventilator care, and Halo brace management. The position requires graduation from an accredited nursing program (BSN preferred), computer proficiency, and at least 1 year of acute nursing experience. BLS certification is required; Connecticut RN licensure is required; critical care or emergency experience is preferred.

- Valid State Of Connecticut Registered Nurse License
