Job Summary
Resource Nurse ICU PRN provides guidance and mentoring to new graduates or nurses transitioning to new specialties, supporting multiple units with education on standard nursing practice, policies, and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance. Essential duties include participating in nursing care plan implementation, collecting and documenting admissions data and vital signs, assisting with mobility and transfers, providing non-medicated care and basic wound care, preparing specimens, delivering medications to licensed staff, assisting with surgeries or procedures, supporting activities of daily living, hourly rounding, and enforcing safety protocols. The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and an active RN license with relevant certifications (BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CPI, BERT, NRP, PALS) and demonstrates leadership/preceptorship potential.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- 2+ years’ experience as a RN
- Current RN license in state(s) of practice and/or active compact license
- BLS within 30 days of hire
- ACLS
- Preceptor Training within 90 days of hire
- NIHSS within 30 days of hire
- CPI within 90 days of hire
- BERT within 90 days of hire
- NRP within 12 months of hire
- PALS within 12 months of hire
- Strong ability to provide direct and indirect patient care under supervision of licensed nurse
- Documentation and communication skills
- Patient safety and infection control practices
- Basic wound care and non-medicated support tasks
