Job Summary
The RN is accountable for coordinating nursing care across direct patient care, patient/family education, and transitions of care, operating within Mayo Clinic's Nursing Professional Practice Model to plan, implement, evaluate, and communicate all phases of nursing care for assigned patients. Leadership activities include serving as a preceptor, participating in formal and informal leadership roles, and contributing to quality improvement; delegation of patient care is based on skill level, experience, patient acuity, and resource availability. The role requires excellent communication, mentoring, and teaching abilities, with potential involvement in committees or projects; may require driving a personal vehicle. The role is TN sponsorship eligible. The schedule is Part Time with 12 Hour Night shifts, including weekends and alternating holidays, at Mayo Clinic sites in Phoenix/Scottsdale, AZ; Jacksonville, FL; Rochester, MN, and Mayo Clinic Health System campuses in the Midwest (and international locations as applicable).
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a nursing program
- Current RN license by applicable state requirements
- Maintains current Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers
- Ability to work flexible hours (days/evenings/nights/weekends/on-call)
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Experience with electronic medical record systems preferred
- One year of RN experience in an applicable care setting or one year of LPN experience (preferred)
