Job Summary
Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care for assigned ICU patients while maintaining professional accountability. Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments and evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by direct care givers. Ensure patient rights and confidentiality of patient information are upheld consistent with Mercy service standards. This full-time, 36-hour night shift position requires a Registered Nurse or Graduate Nurse Resident with at least one year of experience and a current RN license. Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire. Candidates must be prepared to push, pull, and lift 50 pounds regularly, with prolonged standing and walking each shift. Required Qualifications
- Graduated from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN)
- Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire
- Other unit specific certifications as required
- Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift
- Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year of RN experience is preferred
