Job Summary
Registered Nurse in ICU Float Unit responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care on neuro/cardiac ICU units; oversees non-RN personnel and acts as charge nurse; provides patient-family education, participates in discharge planning, and collaborates with healthcare team to achieve optimal outcomes. Must demonstrate competencies in neuro assessment, airway management, ventilator care, tracheostomy care, and post-operative cardiac care, including devices such as LVAD/ECMO/IABP as appropriate; BSN preferred with CT licensure and BCLS certification.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
- BSN preferred
- BCLS certification or obtain within one month of hire
- Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in Connecticut
- Clinical specialty certification encouraged
- Experience as RN with SPIRE clinical advancement program optional
