Job Summary
Registered Nurse – ICU Float Unit with a neuro-focused scope. Responsibilities include assessing the patient's physical and psychosocial condition; developing, communicating and documenting a plan of care; coordinating care with the healthcare team; educating patients and families; serving as a preceptor to new staff and functioning as a Charge Nurse. Demonstrates competency in neuro patient care, neuro assessment, airway management of neuro patients, and caring for patients with tracheostomy or on ventilators. Performs procedures such as pharyngeal/endotracheal/tracheostomy suctioning, and supports the TI A teaching program. Requires ability to adapt to unit needs, supervise non-RN personnel, and participate in ongoing performance improvement; requires familiarity with electronic health records and ongoing learning. Education: BSN preferred; licensure to practice as an RN in CT per job posting; critical care or emergency experience preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing; BSN preferred
- 1 Year acute nursing experience required
- Valid State Of Connecticut Registered Nurse License
- BLS Required
