Job Summary
Registered Nurse - ICU position focusing on neuro/ICU patient care. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and supervising individualized patient care on the unit; provides supervision of non-RN personnel; may assume charge nurse duties; may work on other nursing units as needed. Demonstrates competency in neuro assessment, airway management, care of tracheostomy/ventilated patients, and special neuro procedures; supports patient education and discharge planning; serves as preceptor to new staff and contributes to high-level service and teamwork.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate Of An Accredited School Of Nursing; BSN Preferred.
- 1 Year Neonatal ICU RN experience required.
- LICENSURE Valid State Of Connecticut Registered Nurse License
- SPECIAL SKILLS BLS Required
- Proficient In Use Of Computer Software To Include Electronic Patient Records
- LOCATION Newport County, RI, US (Hospitals/Medical Unit)
- Demonstrates Skill And Understanding In Neuro Assessment
- Demonstrates Skill And Knowledge In Neuro Care And Ventilator Patients
- Demonstrates Knowledge Of Halo Brace Care
- Demonstrates Skill In Airway Management Of Neuro Patients
- Demonstrates Ability To Precept and Supervise Staff
- Plans For Education After Assessing Patient And Family Needs
