Job Summary
Oncology/ Radiation Oncology RN position at MUSC Charleston clinics. Provides nursing care to oncology patients undergoing radiation therapy, collaborating with radiation therapists, physicians, social workers, dosimetrists and physicists. Utilizes the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care; leads and coordinates care with multidisciplinary team; focuses on patient/family centered care and professional practice standards. Role involves care management, health teaching, and promoting a safe healing environment. Requires RN licensure, BLS certification, one year RN experience; BSN preferred with a pathway to obtain BSN for newer hires. Work is based in Charleston area clinics (Hollings Cancer Center, MUSC Main Hospital, Mount Pleasant Radiation Oncology) with varied shifts; flexible to part-time staffing. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred
- RN licensure by SC Board of Nursing or compact state
- AHA BLS or Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification
- minimum of one year RN experience
- BSN enrollment within two years and BSN degree within four years for RN hired on/after July 1, 2013
- ability to perform requirements listed (physical requirements)
- broad nursing responsibilities with coordination of care in oncology/radiation oncology setting
