Job Summary
Assess, plan, deliver, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care for patients across the lifespan while collecting and analyzing health data with no more than 3-5 exceptions per supervisory review. Implement interventions, evaluate progress toward goals, and document care activities with 80-100% accuracy. Direct and supervise LPNs and support personnel 100% of the time, perform Point of Care testing, and maintain testing reagents and equipment per established policies. Advocate for patient autonomy, ensure informed consent is signed, and act ethically on behalf of patients. Complete the Nurse Residency program and submit the orientation checklist to advance to RN II within 12-15 months. Participate in nursing research and educational activities to advance nursing science.
Required Qualifications
- 2 year / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Vocational / Technical Diploma Professional Nursing Program
- New graduate or less than one year of experience as a Registered Nurse
- NYS licensure as Registered Nurse or valid interim permit
- BLS certification
- Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 lbs. for force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects
- Occasional balancing, climbing, crouching, kneeling, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching
- Frequent fit testing
- Constant typing, grasping, hearing, repetitive motion, seeing/ monitor/ computer use, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity, walking
- Occasional radiation/radiant energy
- Frequent bodily fluids/bloodborne exposure
- Occasional noise, vibration, wet and/or humid
- Frequent odors
- Occasional Travel
Desired Qualifications
- 4 year / Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
- All RN's hired and do not currently hold a BSN will be expected to demonstrate enrollment in a bachelor's prepared nursing program within 4 years of hire
- BSN must be completed within 10 years
- RN's licensed on or before 12/19/17 are/remain exempt from this requirement
- Other certifications may be needed based on department requirements
