Job Summary
Assess and evaluate patient status by writing and initiating care plans, regularly re-evaluating needs, and revising plans as necessary. Develop goals based on nursing diagnosis, administer prescribed medications and treatments, and complete accurate clinical notes regarding patient condition and care. Communicate with physicians regarding patient needs, report condition changes, obtain orders, and maintain a safe environment. Participate in interdisciplinary group meetings, attend on-call duties, and ensure equipment and services are available. Supervise ancillary personnel when required and actively participate in quality assessment performance improvement teams.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years' nursing experience
- Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution
- Proficient with electronic medical records
- Excellent bedside manner and communication skills
- Working knowledge of health care laws and regulations
- Maintain current BLS CPR certification
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Own a reliable, insured vehicle
- Participate in on-call duties
- Supervise ancillary personnel and delegate responsibilities when required
- Assumes responsibility for personal growth and development
- Maintains and upgrades professional knowledge and practice skills through attendance and participation in continuing education and in-service classes
- Fulfill the obligation of requested and/or accepted case assignments
- Actively participate in quality assessment performance improvement teams and activities
Desired Qualifications
- 2+ years' nursing experience, preferably in geriatrics
