Job Summary

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in an outpatient clinic setting for Holy Rosary OB/GYN and General Surgery clinics. Prioritize and triage care delivery, obtain patient consent, document health histories, and administer prescribed medications while monitoring treatment progress. Educate patients and families on health maintenance, assist with provider results and lactation consultations, and provide wound care services. Execute treatments consistent with training, participate in multidisciplinary teams, and track quality assurance data. Requires valid RN license, BLS or ACLS certification, and one year of clinic or acute hospital experience. Full-time 40-hour schedule with five 8-hour or four 10-hour shifts available in Miles City, Montana.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current/valid Registered Nurse license from the state licensing board
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS)
  • One (1) year related experience in a clinic or acute hospital nursing setting
  • Regular attendance to perform work on site during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts
  • Knowledge of nursing processes; health care systems, structure, and functions; and community resources
  • Understanding of health care technology, equipment, and supplies
  • Familiarity with state law on nursing care, nurse practice guidelines, and clinic policies and procedures
  • Ability to effectively communicate to staff and patients
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and composure with the ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations
  • Maintain a positive, caring attitude towards patients
  • Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism
  • Critical thinking skills within scope of practice population health management and improvement of patient outcomes
  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
  • Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
  • Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items
  • Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
  • This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items
  • Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc)
  • May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time

Desired Qualifications
