Job Summary

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients in the Holy Rosary OB/GYN and General Surgery clinics using the nursing process and evidence-based practice. Prioritize and triage care delivery, obtain patient consent, document health histories and vital signs, and administer prescribed medications while monitoring treatment progress. Execute established standing orders and protocols, educate patients on health maintenance and chronic condition management, and participate in multidisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes. Provide wound care services and support lactation consultations as needed. Full-time 40-hour shift with BLS or ACLS certification required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Located in Miles City, Montana.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current/valid Registered Nurse license from the state licensing board
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS)
  • One (1) year related experience in a clinic or acute hospital nursing setting
  • Regular attendance to perform work on site during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts
  • Knowledge of nursing processes; health care systems, structure, and functions; and community resources
  • Understanding of health care technology, equipment, and supplies
  • Familiarity with state law on nursing care, nurse practice guidelines, and clinic policies and procedures
  • Ability to effectively communicate to staff and patients
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and composure with the ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations
  • Maintain a positive, caring attitude towards patients
  • Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism
  • Critical thinking skills within scope of practice population health management and improvement of patient outcomes
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
  • Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
  • Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items
  • Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
  • Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc)
  • May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
