Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients in the Holy Rosary OB/GYN and General Surgery clinics using evidence-based practice and therapeutic interventions. Prioritize and triage care delivery, obtain patient consent, document health histories and vital signs, and administer prescribed medications while monitoring treatment progress. Educate patients and families on health maintenance and manage acute or chronic conditions, ensuring strict confidentiality and adherence to state laws and clinic protocols. Support lactation consultations, provide wound care services, and assist with provider results within a full-time schedule of 40 hours.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current/valid Registered Nurse license from the state licensing board
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS)
- One (1) year related experience in a clinic or acute hospital nursing setting
- Regular attendance to perform work on site during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts
- Knowledge of nursing processes; health care systems, structure, and functions; and community resources
- Understanding of health care technology, equipment, and supplies
- Familiarity with state law on nursing care, nurse practice guidelines, and clinic policies and procedures
- Ability to effectively communicate to staff and patients
- Demonstrate sound judgment and composure with the ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations
- Critical thinking skills within scope of practice population health management and improvement of patient outcomes
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Ability to bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Ability to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- Ability to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
Desired Qualifications
- RN experience
- IBCLC certification
- Wound care certification
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
