Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in an outpatient clinic setting while prioritizing triage and executing standing orders. Obtain patient consent, document health histories and vital signs, administer medications, and educate families on acute and chronic condition management. Perform wound care services, assist with provider results, and support lactation consultations. Monitor treatment progress, track quality assurance data, and participate in multidisciplinary teams to improve care outcomes. Requires current RN license, BLS or ACLS certification, and one year of clinic or acute hospital experience. Full-time schedule of 40 hours in Miles City, Montana.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current/valid Registered Nurse license from the state licensing board
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS)
- One (1) year related experience in a clinic or acute hospital nursing setting
- Regular attendance to perform work on site during regularly scheduled business hours or scheduled shifts
- Knowledge of nursing processes; health care systems, structure, and functions; and community resources
- Understanding of health care technology, equipment, and supplies
- Familiarity with state law on nursing care, nurse practice guidelines, and clinic policies and procedures
- Ability to effectively communicate to staff and patients
- Demonstrate sound judgment and composure with the ability to take appropriate action in questionable or emergency situations
- Maintain a positive, caring attitude towards patients
- Possess a strong work ethic and a high level of professionalism
- Critical thinking skills within scope of practice population health management and improvement of patient outcomes
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment
- Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment
- This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items
- Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc)
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time
Desired Qualifications
- RN experience
- IBCLC certification
- Wound care certification
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
